How can I automatically check the status of an eID certificate?

There are two options:
- Consulting the CRLs (Certificate revocation lists):
The Certification Authority will publish a new CRL and Delta CRL every three hours on http://crl.eid.belgium.be/.
- Using the OCSP protocol (Online Certificate Status Protocol):
With this protocol, the status of a certificate can be verified online at http://ocsp.eid.belgium.be/.
