How do I inform the recipient of the signed file what it is and why he can trust the signature?

This is a new innovative service. The receiver that receives a signed file might not be aware what this is. We have created thus a text example for you that you can copy in your communication to the recipient: Please find in attach a ZIP file containing an electronic invoice which is signed with an electronic signature of legal value equivalent to a handwritten signature. The electronic invoice has the same value as a paper invoice. It’s advised that you:
  • agreed to receive electronic invoices from this company
  • verify the signature on the invoice. The electronic signature can be verified for free using https://connect.e-invoicing.be/app/en/verify
  • verify the readability of the invoice
  • verify the content of the invoice. Does the invoice contain all expected information, from a VAT and a business point of view?
  • store the electronic invoice (the ZIP file) for a period of at least 7 years, starting on January 1st of the year following the invoice date
The main advantages in signing this document electronically with a legal valid signature are: speed, ease of electronic archiving, trust that nothing changed in the content since the signature and care for the environment. You can find all the info concerning this service on http://www.certipost.be/e-Invoicing.
